Week 3: Study of the Internet of Things (IoT)

Title: Study of the Internet of Things (IoT)

Progress:

For this week, I need to study about IoT as will be implemented in this project. Application Blynk will be used in this project as a mobile app for IoT. This application works with Arduino Wemos D1 for this project.
Wemos D1 WiFi Uno based on the ESP8266. About D1, it has NodeMcu compatible which is an open source of IoT platform. The ESP8266 Module gives any microcontroller access to a WIFI network. This module is connected to an application named Blynk which is a platform for iOS and Android apps to control Arduino Wemos D1.

Conclusion:

Blynk is a Platform with iOS and Android apps to control Arduino over the Internet.t's a digital dashboard where it can build a graphic interface for this project by simply dragging and dropping widgets.

Week 11: Test the Functionality of the Blynk application

Title: Test the functionality of the Blynk application Objective:  To test the functionality of the final year project. To send data from MQ6 sensor to Blynk application. Progress: First, connect supply to the Arduino. Put the hardware in the closed environment. Switch on hotspot from mobile phone to act as a Wi-Fi for the Wemos D1 to send the data into Blynk apps, and then open Blynk apps in the phone and monitor the data collected from the  sensor MQ6. when gas is detected, Blynk libraries will connect to Blynk server and pair up with any Smartphone. The push notification widgets notify the user by sending the alert message and the location of the incident occurred. Besides, it also sends notification via email. Conclusion:                     As the conclusion, by the end of this week, I finally understand the concept and operation of my project based on Blynk application.

Week 14: Final Year Project Presentation Day

Title: Final Year Project Presentation Day Objective:  To present the poster and demonstrate the final year project.      Method: Present the poster and slide to the assessor, demonstrate the hardware project, answer questions and being evaluated by the assessor. Progress:  The Final Year Presentation  (FYP 2) took place in the Dewan Gemilang, Unikl British Malaysian Institute (BMI) on 2 May 2018. The presentation started at 8:30 in the morning. I was assigned to two assessors from the FYP committee who are lecturers from the Electrical Section.  Conclusion: Everything went well for the presentation.
