Week 6: The circuit

Image
Title: The circuit Objective :Construction of project basic circuit Progress: Component used : single transistor motor driver circuit MQ6 sensor Arduino Wemos D1 Arduino Uno                        This project using MQ6 sensor instead of the MQ2 sensor because this sensor has a high sensitivity of butane and propane which is this gas always used for cooking and propellant.  The output from the MQ6 sensor connected to the Arduino digital pin as an input , and for the output, it connects to the single transistor circuit. When the sensors detect a presence of a gas, the output will be high and it will activate the exhaust fans remove the gas outside. Conclusion:                     As the conclusion, by the end of this week, I finally understand the concept and operation of my project.

Week 5: Change of Block Diagram

Image
Title: Change of  Block Diagram Objective:  To identify an overall system of the project. Progress:  This week, I decided to finalize my block diagram of this project. This block diagram has a little change compared to the previous semester because of a different method as the GSM replaced with the ESP8266 WiFi module. Block Diagram The system has one input which is the MQ6 sensor. The Arduino Uno and IoT ESP8266work as a process to receive the input given by gas sensor.  When the sensor detects any gas concentration beyond a safe level, Arduino Uno immediately activates buzzer, exhaust fan so the gases are sent out and the LCD will display the status of gas through the sensors installed the system.  The ESP8266 works as monitoring process and sent the notification to alert the users via a mobile phone application. Conclusion: As the conclusion, by the end of this week, I finally understand the concept and operation of my proj...

Week 4: Flowchart

Image
Title: Flowchart Objective :  To identify the overall system in this project. Progress: Flowchart process for circuit operation The program starts when  MQ6 sensors check the concentration of the gas; the sensor will read the output voltage of the MQ-6 sensor. When the pin of the sensor is interrupted means the sensor detects beyond safe level so the output will be activated by turn on the buzzer, exhaust fan and the led to the users. The system always read the voltage interrupt pin and stop when the sensor voltage back to origin state. Flowchart process for ESP8266 module operation When the program on, the application Blynk will check the device either on or off, when the device is on, the ESP8266 will check the reading of gas. When the pin of the sensor is interrupted means the sensor detects beyond safe level so the output will be activated by sending the notification via application Blynk. When the device in turn off, the application Blynk...

Week 3: Study of the Internet of Things (IoT)

Image
Title: Study of the Internet of Things (IoT) Progress: For this week, I need to study about IoT as will be implemented in this project. Application Blynk will be used in this project as a mobile app for IoT. This application works with Arduino Wemos D1 for this project. Wemos D1 WiFi Uno based on the ESP8266. About D1, it has NodeMcu compatible which is an open source of IoT platform. The ESP8266 Module gives any microcontroller access to a WIFI network. This module is connected to an application named Blynk which is a platform for iOS and Android apps to control Arduino Wemos D1.  WeMos D1 R1 V2.1.0 WiFi Uno Conclusion: Blynk is a Platform with iOS and Android apps to control Arduino over the Internet. t's a digital dashboard where it can build a graphic interface for this project by simply dragging and dropping widgets.

Week 2: Hardware setup

Title: Hardware setup Objective:  To finalize and identify the suitable hardware to be used for the project. Progress:  Material Quantity Total (RM) Arduino 1 RM50 Gas Sensor(Mq6) 1 RM20 Single transistor motor driver circuit 1 RM10 LCD display 1 RM19 Arduino Wemos D1 WiFi Module 1 RM50 Buzzer 1 RM9.90 Exhaust fan 1 RM30 Casing 1 RM50 Conclusion:   I managed to calculate the estimation of this final year project.
